No time, but...

I really don't have time to update this, but I just saw I left everyone in my no good day. Things actually continued to worsen Friday and Saturday, but things are going much better now. They have been going splendidly the past 3 days, but the icing on the cake was my VERY clean kitchen this morning after I took my kids to school. By the by, I didn't clean it, and it was a huge mess! Thanks so much Mom Mc!
I need to get ready for lunch out, it just keeps getting better!

My Horrible No Good Very Bad Day

I got out of bed, at 5:45.
After 9 hours of sleep I was happy to be alive.
As I descended the stairs still not quite awake,
I thought to myself, "OH! I have a headache!
Got hubs out the door, now on to the kids.
Bing! Bang! Boom!
What a chore that is!
Make your bed! Brush your teeth!
Devos, and eat!
As I flew thru the house, headache following here and yon,
I found a boy shirking. Let's call him, Jon.
Rooms were a disaster! Feet had no socks!
I stumbled and fell over and INDOOR pile of rocks!!
On Homer! On Jon! On Marlene and Delphia!
Don't worry about shoes Jesse, no one's gonna see ya!
We are finally loaded and headed to school.
I try to obey the 55 rule.
Bible and spelling in the car, cows in the road.
I told you before we will not house a toad!!
Quiet ride home. Soo much to do.
Dishes. Cleaning. Laundry. Prepping for the MTL too. (Yeah!)
But lets not forget the beast in my head.
Who keeps pushing me down instead of ahead.
I check online for the shoes our kids require.
An hour flies by. What is it young Squire?
No, no movies, Mom needs time with God.
Quiet time done, I still can't move my bod.
Okay dear, "Nim's Island" it is.
Pretty cute movie. Not just for kids.
Frozen chicken the ice pack on my aching head.
(If I'd have seen myself 15 years ago, I'd have dropped over dead!)
My relaxing glass of ice tea had not one spill but two.
Cannot find the craisins, form the cupboard they flew!
Water and Mold in my basement. Dishes tumble about.
Can't wait for the news that we can move out!
I can't keep my fingers around one single thing!
My to do list has lengthened, my ears are starting to ring.
Toddler poured his juice into a Zip lock from his cup.
Great! there's another mess to clean up.
I've cried all I can. My solitude soon ends.
BUT I THANK GOD FOR HIS LOVE,
AND I THANK GOD FOR FRIENDS!
P.S.
Now on top of it all, Blogger says that it hates me!
No line breaks I'm granted. Isn't life crazy?!!

How Quiet Is Too Quiet?

The "Lone Wolf" and his new do

School is in full swing, or at least until tomorrow when they have a day off for conferences..... I have been busy trying to regain some order in the hosue we live in, and today I spent time cleaning up out at "The Property".

Jesse does quite well on his own. He really enjoys the space, and I enjoy not having to listen to his screams of protest when someone crosses him. There is always the issue of him finding trouble with out others to tattle....... I know there is at least one person out there who knows what I am talking about......

This is Jesse's new look. He has become fascinated over the summer with making his hair look like fire. This trick was discovered when he saw his shadow at the pool. If he spiked his wet hair the shadow looked like fire.

The glasses are compliments of the "one" mentioned above. Jesse was over to play on day and came home with the sunglasses minus one lense. We popped out the other, and he has been wearing them pretty much constanly, even to church! I figure he will probably end up with glasses one day, and maybe keeping them on him will be easier than it has been with say....Homer.

On that note, I was thrilled to find out at our optical screenings Monday, Homer and Marlene do not need glasses at present!!! Jon's prescription changed slightly and he will need new lenses, but he is the easiest one to keep them on. Delphia was slightly far sighted, but not enought to worry about for the time being. The score: 4 exams, one set of lenses only!!!!!

I'm Still Here

Here is some photo documentation of how I spent the past month. I have been helping Don as much as possible. Sometimes with kids, sometimes with out. It has been great to spend the time working together. (At least I get to see him!) But as you can see below I have a lot of catching up to do!!

This isn't actually where we started. Originally the floor was all dirt, and we had to dig to place the plumbing, but it gives you a good idea of the layout, so....

This....

To this....
To this...

And Finally This!!
We had like a 12 hour reprieve/ sigh of relief, when the floor was poured, but there are a new batch of things to accomplish, so it didn't take long for Don to gear back up for sealing the concrete, pouring retaining wall, installing windows, etc....
I have come to the realization that a house left to itself brings it's owner shame.....

My house pretty much lookes like this couch EVERYWHERE! Only being home enough to eat, sleep, shower, and change clothes ..... things kinda tend to pile up.
Oh yeah, we also had the first day of school and all the things that entails...

First day of School

P.S

Our basement floor was poured Wednesday!!! It was a huge relief, and VERY exciting!!! I have pictures, but due to extended hours spent helping Don prep the floor, there are some house/ family issues needing my attention more than blogging.
The kids start school Monday, so I may have a few more bits of time next week.

I Don't Care Who You Are, This Is Funny!

How To Save the Government $5 Million

A president's pension currently is $191,300 per year, until he is 80 years old. Assuming the next president lives to age 80. Sen. McCain would receive ZERO pension as he would reach 80 at the end of two terms as president. Sen. Obama would be retired for 26 years after two terms and would receive $4,973,800 in pension. Therefore it would certainly make economic sense to elect McCain in November. How's that for non partisan thinking???

Cheap Imitations

Romans 1:18-23 (The Message)
But God's angry displeasure erupts as acts of human mistrust and wrongdoing and lying accumulate, as people try to put a shroud over truth. But the basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is! By taking along and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can't see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of his divine being. So nobody has a good excuse. What happened was this: People knew God perfectly well, but when they didn't treat him like God, refusing to worship him, they trivialized themselves into silliness and confusion so that there was neither sense nor direction left in their lives. They pretended to know it all, but were illiterate regarding life. They traded the glory of God, who holds the whole world in his hands, for cheap figurines you can buy at any roadside stand.

I have been pondering this passage for the past few days. I have also continue to read
"Captivating". They both have worked hand in hand as God directs. Captivating highlights the fact that EVERY woman was created with a beauty to unveil, but Satan is jealous of the beauty God has created in us as women. (remember he was the " fairest in the land") As such Satan works overtime on women to do one of two things:
1) convince us we do not have a beauty to reveal
2) get us to abuse our beauty

The highlighted verse has been one I bring to mind often thru out the day, and ask myself, "Is this a cheap replacement for God's glory?"
